Our Sales Executive Neil Ross got a phone call from his customers Mr and Mrs McCann. They were at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen and asked Neil for the code for their new 911 which was in production. The Porsche employees at the factory were delighted to have customers they could show their very own Porsche in production. They stopped the production within the factory, the staff were clapping with excitement watching Mr and Mrs McCan walk over to their brand new 911.
Our Sales Executive Neil Ross has never heard of this happening in his full sixteen years working for the brand and is delighted his customers got a special and memorable experience. To continue this experience, on the handover Neil decided to play the couple’s favourite ACDC song through the BOSE speakers. This created an amazing, uplifting atmosphere within the showroom with other customers watching with excitement. Mr and Mrs McCann drove out of the handover bay to their favourite ACDC song, windows down and smiling in their new 911!
Mr and Mrs McCann commented…‘Having visited many Porsche Centres including Wurzburg, Porsche Centre Glasgow continues to exceed our exceptions and the variety of vehicles on display is fantastic. Neil has always gone above and beyond to accommodate our visits and indeed whilst we were at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, Neil immediately took the call despite being busy as were required the production code for the 992 so we could see it during the factory tour. After having 2 Covid handovers with our Macan GTS and Cayenne, we were very excited about having the real experience for the 992. And WOW were we not overwhelmed by the whole day. From start to finish we were made feel that we were the single most important people in that building which is all anyone can every wish for when picking up their dream car. There was absolutely no rush and Neil made sure the day was very special. Ryan, head of valet ensured the car was pristine and thanks must go to him for his understanding of how pernickety we McCanns are!! To the point where Ryan checked with us that we were happy with the standard and was there anything we wanted him to do. Remarkable service.Porsche Glasgow gave us a day that we will remember forever and we are very thankful for everyone that was involved with that. Leaving Porsche Glasgow showroom with ACDC Thunderstuck blasting from the BOSE speakers certainly has everyone smiling!’

Porsche Centre Glasgow received an email from Mr Taylor with a delightful message regarding the excellent customer experience provided by our Service Advisor Toni Allan. As a waiting appointment, Toni ensured Mr Taylor was kept up to date with the status of his car and made sure he had refreshments throughout his wait. As a Porsche Classic fan, Toni organised a tour of our Classic corner with our Parts Manager and gave Mr Taylor a copy of the Porsche Original magazine, Porsche Classic pen and a Porsche Classic grill badge. Toni ensured Mr Taylor felt welcomed and made his visit as pleasant as possible whilst waiting.
Mr Taylor wrote:‘I took my Cayman into Porsche Glasgow. After leaving the garage with my freshly valeted car, I instantly noticed that the car was more responsive, precise and most importantly of all, more fun. I am more in love with the car than ever. Christopher is obviously highly skilled, naturally talented and perhaps a yet undiscovered genus on Porsche cars. However, I must speak of the real star in this story, and that is Toni Allan. As soon as Toni greets you, she is energetic, focused and uncannily seems to know what you will ask before the words are uttered. She is extremely intuitive, making her highly efficient, managing to deal with unexpected customers with ease and all with a smile. She moves quicker than a cheetah, but with considerably more elegant and graceful. Her customer interactive skills are unsurpassed, and she would be ideal for any Porsche promotional film clip on how to ensure the company's high ethos is delivered, not occasionally but every time. So, to sum up, as you may tire of reading this, I wish to thank Porsche Glasgow, Christopher Gilchrist and that bright star Toni Allan.’

Our Sales Executive Martin Gallacher sold a car to Mrs Reid who explained her children, two boys and one girl, loved cars and asked if she could bring them along to the handover. She also explained that her daughter had a disability and was in a wheelchair. Martin prepared for the handover with this in mind as he wanted to make it an amazing experience for the whole family.
He moved some display cars and organised a section of the showroom to allow more privacy and accessibility for the family. As he revealed the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid he was just as excited to see the kids’ faces seeing their new car for the first time. To make the day even more special he asked Mr and Mrs Reid if the boys would like to be taken for a drive in our Porsche 911 demonstration car.
The family were over the moon by the customer service provided by Martin and could not thank the dealership enough for being so accommodating and welcoming.

Our Service Advisor Allan Robertson dealt with a customer who had experienced problems with his car and was not happy with the experience he had at another dealership. After listening to the concerns Mr Armstrong had, Allan wanted to make sure he left Porsche Centre Glasgow with trust in our service and a positive experience. On the handover from our Service Department, Mr Armstrong was delighted that his car had been fixed to the Porsche standard he had hoped for and to his surprise, Allan had placed a Porsche goodie bag in the car. Mr Armstrong was delighted with his Porsche flash and keyring with a personalised note from Allan.
Mr. Armstrong wrote a google review to thank Allan for his service.‘New to Porsche since August 2020, poor experience dealing with another Centre and with ongoing concerns about the car enquired with Glasgow. Got immediate call back from Ian putting me in hands of Allan Robertson who has been superb throughout. Car was given a very thorough review finding several issues not previously picked up and resolving the ones I was concerned about. Despite some unexpected delays Allan was in control throughout, attention to detail, thorough, great communication and clearly doing everything he can to look after the customer. Now feel in very safe hands going forwards with both the dealership and Allan.’

Bobby was doing a handover with Mr R for his new 911 GT3 and he had brought along his grandson who is obsessed with all things cars. Mr R had mentioned this to Bobby prior to the handover and, with this in mind, Bobby gave the little boy a tour of the Centre showing him all the different cars and telling him a little more about them. After this he said ‘are you ready to see your Grandad’s car’… and revealed both the Porsche 911 GT3 in Miami Blue and the Baby Porsche in Miami Blue from the Porsche Driver’s Selection range, sitting side by side.
The little boy was absolutely over the moon, his very first Porsche! But, even more so, so was Mr R. He thanked Bobby for one of the best days out with his grandson made so memorable by seeing his Grandson so excited.
Bruce’s customer Mr M was travelling from Cambridgeshire to Glasgow to collect his wife’s new car. The couple decided to stay in Glasgow for a few nights and make the most of their trip. Knowing this was a long journey, Bruce sent over recommendations of things to do in the city including restaurants, hotels and also planned routes via Loch Lomond to enjoy a beautiful view in their new car. Mr M was delighted with the experience of buying the car from Bruce and kindly wrote a Google Review for the Centre.
Just bought my wife a car from the Glasgow Porsche garage. I travelled all the way from Cambridgeshire. The service I received was excellent from Bruce and I also had a follow-up call a few days later to check everything was okay. I would definitely make the long journey again to buy another car in the future.
Our Service Manager received a call from Mrs F, who has not only been a loyal customer to Porsche Centre Glasgow but has also become a good friend of the Centre throughout the years.
Mrs F called the Centre in quite a panic as her car would not start and the car is essential to Mrs F to enable her to attend regular hospital appointments throughout her cancer treatment. Our Service Manager reassured Mrs F he would help and to stay calm. With a fully booked workshop and service department, our driver Alistair offered to assist. Alistair drove to Mrs F’s house to look at the car and assess if it was something he was able to help with. Fortunately, the problem was with the battery which Alistair was able to jump start and this got Mrs F back on the road. Not only did Alistair help with the problem but he also took a Porsche goodie bag to reassure Mrs F it was his pleasure to help out.
Mrs F could not thank the Centre and Alistair enough for helping on such short notice and being there for her when she really needed it.
Fraser was preparing the delivery of a car for his customer who lives in England. The car was being transported and Fraser wanted to ensure the handover would be special for the customer despite not collecting from the Showroom. Whilst thinking of how he could add a special touch to the handover, Fraser thought back to the previous conversations he’d with the customer. One distinctive conversation came to mind: Mr F (the customer) had told Fraser about his trips to Scotland when he was a kid as he would visit family throughout the summer. Out of all the beautiful places he had told Fraser he would visit, Mr F’s favourite memory was his Gran’s cooked breakfast because he would have it ‘the Scottish way’ with square sausage and potato scone – two things that shops don’t sell in England. For a personal touch, Fraser went to the butchers and picked up packets of square sausage and potato scone, as well as other ingredients to complete the breakfast, and packaged them in a Porsche cool bag.
Fraser drove down for the handover meeting with Mr F. However he left the cool bag as a surprise and sent a text once he had left. Upon discovering the surprise Mr F called Fraser and thought it was brilliant. Fraser laughed but was glad the personal touch gave the customer a memorable experience. Fraser then received a text with a picture of the cooked breakfast from Mr F with a thank you message.
Sean wanted to do something special for a family who have been great customers and friends of the Centre for many years and are going through a very difficult time. On the family’s latest visit to the Showroom, Mr D was purchasing a new car for his wife, Sean noticed a significant difference in Mr D’s physical appearance and sadly learned his health was deteriorating due to a brain tumour. This came as devastating news to Sean as he had got to know the family and as he says, “you couldn’t meet nicer people”.
The family had become friends of many people within the Centre throughout the years and it came as a huge shock to everyone. Sean set out to create a memorable experience for the family on behalf of Porsche Centre Glasgow and decided to organise a Drive out Day. Alongside our GSM, Sean carefully handpicked a group of eight customers including Mr D, his wife and two daughters. Sean organised the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar for lunch, booking out one of the dining rooms that looks over the water for the event. The Centre provided a Porsche Taycan for each couple/family to make the experience unique by driving Porsche’s fully electric car for the first time. We drove through Loch Lomond to take in the scenic views stopping for a picture with the stunning backdrop.
Sean learned more about Mr D’s condition on the day out and also the work the whole family do on behalf of the Charity close to them. Sean and our GSM organised prizes for a charity golf event the family had organised including a Porsche Golf Bag, Porsche Golf Towel and Porsche Golf Balls to be auctioned.
The family thanked the Centre for everyone’s thoughtfulness and generosity and most of all Sean for pulling everything together and creating a fantastic day out for the family.
Allan took a phone call from Mrs C who had noticed her tyre pressure was lowering whilst driving. With a very important day ahead Mrs C politely urged for the issue to be fixed as soon as possible. Despite our workshop and service department being fully booked, Allan organised for one of our technicians to help resolve the problem. Knowing the stressful start to the day the customer had had, Allan welcomed her into the Centre with refreshments and reassured her we would do our best to get her car back on the road.
The problem was a nail in the tyre and within twenty minutes a new tyre was fitted to the vehicle allowing Mrs C to get on with her day. This great customer service from Allan didn’t go unnoticed as Mrs C kindly took the time to leave a five star Google Review with an additional comment to thank the Centre and Allan for an excellent service and attentiveness.
I phoned the centre today about losing pressure in one of my tyres. Allan said to bring my car in and he’d check the pressures and top them up so we could monitor the tyre. Arrived and tyres were checked. There was a nail in the tyre. Luckily they had one in stock and offered to fit it there and then even although I could see they were pretty busy. Allan brought me a coffee and a biscuit while I was waiting and 20 minutes later the car was good to go. It’s excellent service and attentiveness like that which makes all the difference.
Toni was greeting our customer, Mr W whose Porsche Macan was booked into the workshop. On his arrival at the Centre, Toni noticed Mr W glancing at a Panamera 4S E-hybrid, which he mentioned was his dream car and he hopes to purchase in the future.
During their conversation, Toni noticed Mr W seemed to be feeling down, which she responded to with a smile and a friendly, “How are you Mr W?” He mentioned it was lovely for her to ask this, however, Toni sadly learned that the customer’s wife had sadly passed away and he was finding things difficult. Thinking of what we could do to make him feel special at our Centre Toni explained she was going to collect the courtesy car keys (which she already had collected), and in fact, she was going to switch the courtesy car from a Cayman to the Panamera 4S E-hybrid for Mr W to enjoy his dream car whilst his car was getting fixed.
When Toni handed over the keys for the Panamera 4S E-hybrid, Mr W was delighted with this gesture and couldn’t believe he would be driving his dream car.
Fraser had a special hand over planned for his customer Mr G who purchased a Porsche Cayenne as a gift to his wife, the perfect luxurious family car, as their twin babies would be arriving in the near future.
On the day the car was arranged to be collected Mr G called Fraser to say they could not make the collection as Mrs G was now in labour at the hospital. Knowing the thoughtfulness and detail Mr G had planned, Fraser decided to make a video to bring the Showroom handover experience to the couple. This allowed Mr G to show the thoughtful reveal he had planned to his wife. As the Porsche car cover fell from the car the video unveiled the sparkling white Porsche Cayenne with a huge red bow on the centre, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a friendly congratulations message from Fraser.
Mr G thanked Fraser for continuing to make his wife’s gift extra special and also for remembering the big red bow on the car, something Mr G had requested for the handover. The couple were delighted with the video and with Fraser’s efforts to add to their special day with a heart-warming congratulations message on the birth of their twins.
Neil’s customer Mrs F was picking up her new car and while going through the process had mentioned that it was her birthday on the day she was collecting. With this in mind, Neil got birthday balloons for her and put them under the cover along with the car. When she pulled the cover off to reveal her car, all the balloons popped up and she was absolutely delighted. Neil also got her a birthday cake which she was thrilled with. Neil managed to make an already special day even more special.
Well done Neil!
One of our customers broke down and their car was recovered to the centre. When the customer arrived, it was apparent she was in a bit of a difficult situation, as she had a busy day of meetings scheduled and was now without a car.
At the centre, we managed to shift a few things about and make a courtesy car available to her which she was grateful for but as we went to add her to the insurance, she realised she didn’t have her driving license on her. She became more flustered as she didn’t have time to drive all the way home to get it and drive back to the centre, which is when Sean and Fraser stepped in.
One gave the customer a lift back to her home address and the other one followed behind in the courtesy to save her having to come back to the centre and took a laptop with them to add her details to the insurance. She was very grateful for their help and thanks to them, she didn’t knock her schedule out of sync too much!
Mr H was picking up his brand new Macan GTS but before his handover, he had mentioned that he was going to be bringing his grandson in with him as he is car mad. Sean decided to gift Mr H’s grandson an electric 918 Spyder toy car and on the morning of the handover, he put both of the cars under a cover. When Sean unveiled both cars, Mr H and his grandson were absolutely delighted.
We had one happy customer and I think we’ve secured a future customer! Well done Sean.
A customer called us in a panic as she had an issue with her air conditioning unit but her husband was away and she was due to use the car for a long journey in two days’ time. Ian spoke with her and arranged to pick her car up at 7am the following morning.
Ian collected the car personally and brought it to the centre, got the issue fixed, washed the car and returned it to the customer that same night. Upon return, the customer was absolutely delighted with the effort Ian had gone to and couldn’t be more grateful to him.
Mrs S was supposed to be taking delivery of her new Porsche but took ill and was admitted to hospital. She wasn’t sure when she was going to be able to collect the car, so Fraser took the car to the hospital for her and completed the handover there for her. He also took her a bouquet of flowers to wish her well.
She was absolutely delighted with how accommodating and thoughtful Fraser had been.
John is a member of our Parts Team who went out of his way after his working day to help one of our very good customers who owns a 911T and lives over 70 miles from our dealership.
Mr A called the centre as he had been unwell for a few weeks and been unable to drive his car, he thought that he had better start his car up as it hadn’t been used and discovered that the battery was completely flat and was panicking. We advised him he would need a Battery Charger which we supplied and John delivered it to him that night on his way home and sorted it all for him at his home.
He was so delighted with the service he had received and called to say how much he appreciated our efforts.
Liam sold a Porsche to Mr S and during their discussions, he discovered that Mr S had terminal cancer. After many chats, Liam also discovered that Mr S was a total petrol head and loved everything Porsche.
Liam decided to speak to his manager and purchased Mr S hospitality tickets for Goodwood Festival of Speed for him and a few friends. Mr S was absolutely delighted with Liam’s kind gesture and sent him in a lovely card to say thank you.
Well done Liam!
A distressed mother had called in and asked if we could help her daughter to arrive at her prom in style, as the rest of her class had booked a party bus to go to the Prom but her daughter had been excluded from the offer. The girl was distressed that everyone was going to the prom on the Party Bus except her.
The mother called Porsche Glasgow and asked if she could rent a car to get the girl to Prom and ‘Make it Special’. As this is not something we can do, Katie (Marketing Executive) asked the Sales Team if anyone could help as the request was local and the girl loves driving past the Centre and admiring our cars. Ross offered to give up his Friday night and make the arrival special for the girl.
He picked the girl and her father up in our Panamera GTS took them on a local tour and stopped for the girl and her father to get pictures taken. He then dropped the girl off at the Prom and the family were delighted that Porsche Glasgow went the Extra Mile to make their daughter’s prom such a memorable experience for them.
